Computer: Uemis Zurich update

You may remember that my experience with the wonderful new OLED Uemis Zurich computer (DIVERTests, February) was marred when the example I was testing suddenly decided that I was 488m deep, and told me to go up to 90m immediately.
I was 28m deep at the time. It was probably a fault with the individual instrument's pressure sensor.
I have since been using a second example of the Zurich, and I am pleased to say that, after numerous dives in places as far apart as Raja Ampat in Indonesia, the Egyptian Red Sea and Mediterranean Malta, the unit has not exhibited any such problem. I have continued to be dazzled by its comprehensive and colourful display, with numerous prompts that come up in orange and warnings in red.
The Zurich lives up to its promise of being a "Scuba Diving Assistant", or SDA.
If it were not that it needs to be recharged by its USB connection from time to time, simply because the onboard solar panel is not sufficient to keep it topped up, even in the sunny conditions in which I used it, I would have awarded the Zurich full marks out of 10.
But it certainly deserves eight stars, despite its hefty price of £999.
