Island-hopping in Mozambique

Under the guidance of marine scientist Charlotte Caffrey, the safari will enable divers to gain exceptional access to the reefs and wildlife of Mozambique's renowned Quirimbas Islands.

"Divers can travel to the best dive spots, staying in a combination of eco-tented camps on uninhabited islands, and coastal hotels," says Aqua-Firma.

"The islands of the Quirimbas National Park in northern Mozambique are the coral jewels of African diving, with some stunning reefs and more than 400 species of fish."

Travel to dive sites during the 8-day trip will be via a combination of traditional sailing dhow, sea kayak and light aircraft.

"In addition to diving, there will be plenty of free-diving opportunities on the islands' many shallow reefs," says Aqua-Firma. "And the team will carry kayaks for desolate beach landings and exploration of mangrove channels full of birdlife."

The final destination is Mozambique's the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ibo Island.
