If you fancy joining a manta ray safari, Maldives Scuba Tours has a number of dedicated departures coming up that might suit you. On a recent trip the company reports visiting a cleaning station where more than 60 rays were recorded on the first day - and 120-plus on the second! Researchers Anne-Marie Kitchen-Wheeler (appearing at the Dive Show this month) and Matt Kitchen need to conduct similar trips throughout the year to reflect different seasons and to demonstrate the need for conservation. They will lead safaris from 6-14 January aboard Sea Spirit, and from 18-26 February on Sea Quest. Prices are£1520 for seven nights and£2220 for 12 nights, including flights, taxes, liveaboard accommodation and diving. |
