| For the first time Barefoot Traveller is arranging dive trips to the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal. The islands lie 560 miles from India and are largely unaffected by tourism. The 2004 Tsunami may have left its mark but Barefoot says that dive sites are 'totally undamaged by human activity, boasting some of the largest variety of coral and fish life anywhere'. The Barefoot eco-retreat on Havelock Island has a PADI dive centre and offers a range of other activities, from yoga to swimming with elephants! November to May is the best time to visit, and seven nights' half-board accommodation plus flights and transfers costs from £925 per person. |
