The centre has a facility with pens where 13 dolphins live. They are released into open water several times a week to rendezvous with divers at a nearby reef. UNEXSO says the dolphins aren't forced to go back to the centre and are free to swim off, which it proudly claims has never happened!
It also guarantees shark encounters at the Shark Junction dive site, where divers swim with the sharks and watch as a chainmail-clad guide feeds them. Daring divers can sign up for UNEXSO's four-day 'Feeder Program' that trains experienced divers to feed the sharks themselves.
The trip will cost you around ?815, which includes flights, six nights' accommodation at the Sheraton Grand Bahama hotel, diving, and a tour of the dolphin facility. |
