| Diving is with Emperor Divers at Marina Lodge, Port Ghalib, just metres from the dive boats at the hotel jetty. Marsa Alam opens up a wide range of diving opportunities on Elphinstone Reef, Marsa Abu Dahab and Sha'ab Samadai. Meanwhile Emperor is taking divers to the wreck of the El Arish El Tor, which sank in 2002, from both its Marsa Alam and Safaga centres - it's only five minutes by speedboat from Safaga. You can do two dives on the 105m passenger ferry, which lies on its port side with all fixtures still in place. Dives are normally between 18 and 25m and a three-course lunch is served between dives onshore. The trip costs 60 euros. |
