The six-day expedition with the Icelandic PADI dive centre DIVE.IS will visit two of Iceland's most northerly islands where, it says, only one diver is known to have been before. Grimsey is Iceland's most northerly inhabited island with a population of just 50 people, and Kolbeinsey lies on a tectonic rift.
The dives will take place around the clock, including the early hours of the morning during Iceland's endless summer hours of daylight.
Dives at Iceland's most famous sites will also be included in the expedition's itinerary. These include the Silfra Rift, a crack between the American and Eurasian continents which has more than 100m visibility, and Strýtan, a geothermal chimney in north Iceland.
Divers will need to be certified to PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent, and to have logged at least 50 dives, including 20 drysuit dives.
The expedition costs 1299 Euros per person and includes two dives in Silfra, two dives at Strýtan, two dives around Kolbeinsey and four dives around Grimsey. Also covered are pick-up and drop-off in Reykjavik, five nights' accommodation in guesthouses in Eyjafjörður and Grimsey, an experienced dive guide, and tanks and weights. The price excludes transportation from the UK and accommodation on arrival in Reykjavik.
