In September the vessel will host two MWSRP marine biologists and will also donate 10 per cent of its income for that month directly to the MWSRP to support the conservation of the archipelago's ‘flagship species'.
The cruises will visit dive sites around Baa and South Ari Atolls, arguably some of the best in the world. Highlights will be Hanifaru Lagoon and its massive manta ray aggregation and South Ari atoll's year-round whale shark ‘hotspot'.
Guests will enjoy the opportunity to get hands-on experience of the MWSRP team's ground-breaking research and will benefit from expert knowledge about the animals' behaviour, biology and movements.
MWSRP Director, Adam Harman, said: "The support Search Maldives will provide in September is incredibly valuable to us - as a charity ran by volunteers - and to the Maldivian environment. The importance of responsible tour operating in the ever growing Maldivian tour industry is imperative if the Maldives is to remain a magical environment. We are excited about this new relationship and look forward to working more closely in the future."
