Gigantic discovery off Sardinia

Appeared in DIVER February 2013

The wreck of a Messerschmitt Me323 Gigant cargo aircraft, sunk in a World War Two air raid, has been found off Sardinia’s La Maddalena archipelago. It’s a draw for experienced technical divers, says GABRIELE PAPARO – and a wreck that stirs folk memories for Italians. Underwater photography by STEFANO D’URSO
