Appeared in DIVER April 2007

RALFTECH Cocoon Lady - £395
Divernet
This BC was so new to the market that DIVER obtained the first example to arrive in Britain. It was the only one of the units tested here that did not have an integrated-weight system as standard. A French brand, it comes with a ten-year manufacturers guarantee.
The Cocoon lady did have two pairs of capacious pockets, both closed with large zips, but the zips start from the back and have no toggle, so they are are almost inaccessible
under water.
The colour scheme was a bit weird, and the sternum strap is more of a throttle strap. After trying six BCs with integrated weights, you really notice the difference when wearing a weightbelt.
The weightbelt pulls down while the BC pulls up, putting pressure in the wrong place when its fully inflated at the surface.
The jacket tends to rise up off the shoulders compared to other BCs with integrated weights. The ride height at this time, however, was excellent.
Under water the direct-feed was good, but the dump seemed to suffer a delay. All the utilities were too much round to the side, and inaccessible even with alternate arms, and
I found that I had to be upright for the top dumps to work properly.
The tank is securely held by two cambands.
