Freediving fun day

Over 17 and 18 September, freedivers who make it to the inland dive site near Frome will be able to enjoy a light-hearted, fun-based event, chalk to the cheese of serious freediving competitions.

There’s the pool breath-hold contest for teams, in which three people compete in a relay and the longest total time wins. As one You Tube clip shows, careful preparation is not exactly key.

Out in the lake there’s a Guess Your Depth contest and a Constant Weight competition. Another You Tube clip shows participants diving from one of the lake platforms.

Fun events notwithstanding, No-Tanx is entirely serious about its training for recreational and competition freedivers.
