The BSAC lectures will be available to members on a pre-bookable basis and will delivered at DIVE 2011 at the NEC, Birmingham on 22 and 23 October.
"Working with DIVE 2011 organisers to provide these free lectures is all part of BSAC's ongoing commitment to support its members to progress within their diving," says the club.
"The lectures also tie in with BSAC's Dive Leader 2011 project, which aims to support BSAC branches in training more members to what is considered to be a key diving grade."
BSAC members with the relevant diver grade and holding the relevant training materials can pre-book on a selection of lectures subject to availability. The lectures will then count towards their final qualification.
The lectures on offer at DIVE 2011 are from the current Dive Leader and Advanced Diver training syllabus. They are planned as follows:
Saturday, 22 October
DT1 - The role of the Dive Leader; DT8 - Dive Planning; DT12 - The Role of the Dive Manager; Chartwork workshop.
Sunday, 23 October
AT1 - The Role of the Advanced Diver; AP1 - Expedition Planning.
BSAC points out that, while the lectures are free, places will be limited - so early booking is advised.
"Once you have registered and been allocated a place, BSAC will provide you with a full timetable of information on the lectures being staged," it says.
"For eligible students who have not yet bought their Dive Leader Training Pack and would like to take advantage of the lectures at the Dive Show, there is also currently a £5 discount off the member price."
