Now in its eighth year, the conference is organised by the British Sub-Aqua Club’s Yorkshire Region but is open to all as the “annual conference for scuba divers from around the north of England”.
Subjects for divers to get their teeth into include:
Photographic skills, with Paul Duxfield of Ocean Leisure;
Boat Safety and Maintenance, with the RNLI;
Dive gear and configuration, with Ray McKee, Anke Otto and Garry Whyke;
Advanced Diver - Expedition Planning, with Andy Hunt;
Advanced Diver - Lectures, with Paul Beal;
Technical and kit sessions, with Suunto and the BSAC technical team.
Other attractions are a photo competition, raffle for “a range of exciting prizes kindly donated by our sponsor companies”, trade stands, a hot food stand and a BSAC shop.
The conference takes place at Askham Bryan College, Askham Bryan, from 9.30am-5pm.
Pre-booked breakfasts are available from 8am, while a bar will open at lunchtime and after the conference finishes.
