AXA Insurance looked into a broad range of adventure-style holidays, questioning 1000 people. It concluded that, on average, as many as 16 per cent depart on their sporty trips without having taken out any form of insurance cover.
But for scuba diving, just 3 per cent of those going on holiday failed to take out cover. Skiers were also relatively well disciplined in arranging cover, with 5 per cent not bothering.
By comparison, 10 per cent of those canoeing or kayaking, 11 per cent of horse riders, 12 per cent of sailors and 18 per cent of trekkers went on holiday with no insurance policy in place.
Worst were those going on cycling holidays, at 19 per cent. |
