The 35m and 56m vessels settled a moderate distance apart and upright as planned, in 35m of water off ix-Xatt l'Anmar.

They were stripped of hazardous materials and had diving access holes cut into their hulls, with the help of tourism promotion funds directed through the European Regional Development Fund.
