The freediver was fishing in not more than 8m of water, off the Florida Keys. He is reported to have shot a Goliath grouper - a large member of the sea bass family, capable of growing to a weight of several hundred pounds.
The fish headed into a rocky crevice - after first swimming in a way which wrapped the spear line around the diver's arm. Police divers are reported to have found the diver effectively pinned to the seabed, with the fish still firmly entrenched in the rocky crevice. |
