Centred on Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, the competition attracted 48 men's and women's teams from 18 countries - the highest attendance in the biennial event's 26-year history.

The ultra-fit, puck-pushing swimmers contested three categories - Elite, Masters and Under-19s - in both men's and women's events.

Gold medals went to New Zealand (3), USA (2) and Australia (1). Silvers were taken by Britain (3), South Africa (1), Canada (1) and Holland (1). And bronzes went to France (4), South Africa (1) and Canada (1).
