Diving Into History will, Project Officer Ian Barefoot told Divernet, involve workshops and presentations at schools and adult centres.
It will also receive another £25,000 from NAS coffers, in a bid to increase interest and backing for nautical archaeology, and encourage people to become active divers and researchers.
Meanwhile, the Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology has run a children's introduction to the world of underwater archaeology.
It held a lecture, pool try-dive and hands-on 'feel-some-artefacts' session at Derby's da Vinci Community School. Education officer Alison Hamer said more events would follow. |
