Ex-dive centre staffer gets MBE

A Briton known by many diving visitors to the Red Sea was awarded an MBE in the New Year's Honours List.

Dawn Bacon is a British expatriate who has lived in Sharm el Sheikh for nine years. For seven of those she worked at Red Sea Diving College, and will be known by many former guests from Britain and other countries.
Bacon eventually moved on to work full-time as the Honorary Consul for the British Embassy in Egypt. It is in that capacity that she received the MBE nomination, for her achievements in assisting the needs of Britons in the country. |
