Peter Little, salesroom manager for London dive shop Collins and Chambers, was on a club holiday on Grand Sea Serpent, organised by Tony Backhurst Scuba Travel.
He apparently became separated from his buddy and failed to surface after diving the Aida wreck off Big Brother on 27 February. Subsequent searches failed to locate him.
An experienced diver, Little was said to have carried out more than 2000 dives. Members of his club Pisces and Islington Diving Club issued a statement: 'The loss of our friend and diving buddy Peter Little has shocked us all. The reality is only now hitting home for family, friends and fellow-divers.
'Peter has been an inspiration to the 'scubee-doo' divers, as he called us, with lectures and tales of his worldwide wreck diving for many years. His reputation as a diver gained him respect throughout our diving community and his commitment to training new divers has furthered diving for our club and many others.
'Peter, we will all remember you and miss you. Our only consolation is that you left us doing the sport you loved most, diving on a wreck.' |
