Paul Jackson, 50, failed to surface from the wreck of the Devonian, a liner torpedoed in WWII and which lies in 60m of water, 16 miles off the north-west coast of County Donegal.
He was among a group of eight divers from north-east England, on holiday in Donegal to dive, from a chartered day boat, a selection of wrecks sunk in the North West Passage during both world wars.
Air and sea searches were launched, but Jackson's body was recovered from the seabed close to the wreck by members of his own party, returning to the site the day after the accident. It has yet to be confirmed whether Jackson's full kit, including a closed-circuit rebreather, was also recovered.
