Paul Jackson, 50, who worked as a PC with Humberside Police, was lost while diving on the liner Devonian, sunk in WWII in 60m of water off Ireland's Donegal coast.
Jackson had travelled to Ireland with seven friends to dive a number of wrecks sunk in the North West Passage during both world wars.
In June, another diver by the name of Paul Jackson led a team exploring the wreck of a German U-boat sunk in the Northern Barrage, between Orkney and Norway.
Their observations lent support to a view that the wreck is U102, sunk in 1918. Other divers checked out another wreck nearby, thought to be U92, sunk in the same year.
The dives are reported in the current (August) issue of DIVER magazine.
