The trip, which will form the basis of a series to be screened by BBC2 in the Autumn, is being followed at www.bbc.co.uk/oceans. Expedition aims include meeting up with beluga whales and walruses.
The site launched on Monday, 9 June at the start of filming, which runs for 12 days.
