New UK freedive records

Britons Mark Harris and Liv Philip have set new British records in freediving's Free Immersion and Dynamic Apnea categories.

Harris' Free Immersion dive reached 67m, breaking his own record of 64m set in 2007. The finless diver descends and ascends by a combination of freeswimming and pulling by arm down and up the line.
Harris also holds the UK Variable Weight record, at 80m. The diver descends by weighted sled but must return to the surface without any aid such as an inflatable balloon, as used in the sport's No Limits category.
Philip (pictured) set a new women's Dynamic Apnea mark of 122m, while competing at the British Freediving Association's Summer Outdoor Pool Competition, at Brockwell Lido in south London. The category involves a horizontal under water swim.
Philip's record beat that of Hannah Stacey, who managed 119m in 2005. Philip also holds the UK women's Dynamic Apnea Without Fins record, at 104m.
