Diver's Technical Editor John Bantin, who will be speaking at the Show, takes us through some of the more recent evolutionary advances in diving equipment, including the Poseidon rebreather, designed to allow divers to stay longer and go deeper than ever before, and the Whites Fusion drysuit, both of which can be seen at the NEC.
Monty Halls, another of the Show's guest speakers, previews a presentation that will revolve around his forthcoming TV show Beachcomber Cottage. He describes this as an 'immersive experience', ranging from living off the land in the Scottish highlands to diving with minke whales. His endorsement of British diving is echoed in the British Isles Experience theme at the show.
Other speakers will include Mike 'Sharkman' Rutzen, Mike de Gruy (Pacific Abyss), freediver Marcus Greatwood, British shark expert Richard Peirce and wreck divers Mark Ellyatt and Lars Kirkegaard.
With more than 300 exhibitors in the main hall, free seminars, the Digital Clinic for photgraphers and the Technical and Try-Dive pools, everyone's diving appetites should be catered for.
