Ridley Scott considers scuba film
|
Film producer and director Sir Ridley Scott is reported to be interested in leading a film adaptation of Robert Kurson's best-selling book Shadow Divers.

The book recounted the adventures of divers John Chatterton and Richie Kohler, who led a seven-year quest to explore, identify and research a WWII U-boat which they found in deep water off New Jersey in 1991. Three divers lost their lives during the project.
William Broyles (Planet of the Apes, Castaway, Apollo 13) wrote a screenplay for rights holder Fox 2000, which sent a draft to Scott, who is reported to be considering the job following completion of his present film, A Good Year.
In his outstanding 40-year film-making career, Scott has produced eleven films and directed sixteen. Blockbusters have included Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma and Louise, GI Jane, Gladiator, and Black Hawk Down.
