 BSAC victim of lottery scam
The British Sub-Aqua Club has been used as a medium for advanced-fee lottery fraud.

'It has come to our attention that a group of criminals operating in the UK have been using the names and the logos of the British Sub-Aqua Club in an attempt to defraud people of money with an advanced-fee lottery scam,' the club has stated.

“Please be aware that the 'BSAC Payment Online Bank' does not exist and there is no such organisation acting on behalf of the British Sub-Aqua Club.”

In advanced-fee lottery fraud, potential victims are told by email that they have won a prize but that a 'processing fee' is required in order to credit the individual’s bank account.

In the case involving the BSAC, they may also be sent fake IDs and certificates carrying the club's name and King Neptune logo.

A club spokesman added: 'The matter has been reported to the UK authorities but unfortunately the British Sub-Aqua Club is unable to assist further.'
