Nicknamed Marra by British Divers Marine Life Rescue, the dolphin was identified by the Zoological Society of London, which had previously examined the animal during BDMLR operations.
The young, healthy female, a loner with affinity for human contact, is thought to have died after stranding. She had stranded before but been spotted and helped back into the sea.
