Myerscough College, at Bilsborrow near Preston, will launch its Foundation Degree in Watersports Leisure Management at the beginning of the next academic year, in September.
The course is, says the college, the 'first industry-led programme relevant to watersports in the North of England, and is the only course of its kind in the country specialising in scuba diving'.
The degree has been developed jointly by Myerscough College, the University of Salford, PADI, the Chartered Management Institute, and the Royal Yachting Association.
Myerscough College outdoor education students recently took a Red Sea diving holiday, training for PADI certification at El Gouna, in Egypt.
