Welfare group protests over captive dolphins
|
Marine Connection is taking a stance against what it says are plans to create more dolphinariums at Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.

The animal welfare group added that it will campaign further to make the holiday town and diving resort a 'captive dolphin-free zone'. That would mean removing dolphins already on show there.
A year ago, Marine Connection succeeded in getting two beluga whales removed from hot, cramped conditions at Sharm's Dolphinella centre. The animals were taken to better holding conditions with CITES in Cairo, pending transport back to their original owner in Russia.
