The decommissioned passenger ferries, 35m and 56m long, are to be sunk within 50m of each other in a position and depth suitable for the majority of scuba divers visiting the island.
The ships are expected to be on the seabed by the end of July, after being stripped of hazardous materials and having a series of access holes cut into their hulls for safe diver entry and exit.
