Greenpeace says that it has located 170 tons of whale meat at a dump in Iceland, a few months after the country restarted whaling and landed seven fin whales.
According to Greenpeace, another 200 tons remains in store, still to be sold.
Similar criticism has been levelled at Japan. Groups including Britain?s Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society recently deplored a resumption of whaling when, back home, sellers struggle to shift a vast stock of whalemeat.
Increased usage in, for instance, fast-food production and school meals, has been encouraged in a bid to reduce the whalemeat mountain. |
