The missing person, a Belgian national diving from a hardboat based in Antwerp, failed to surface during a 35-40m dive on Sunday, at a position some 40 miles off Aldeburgh in Suffolk.
The rescue helicopter from RAF Wattisham joined a Belgian rescue helicopter from Koksijde and a fixed-wing aircraft from the Netherlands, searches continuing through Monday and Tuesday. Merchant vessels assisted.
Searches have been stood down and the diver has been declared lost, presumed dead.
