The conference, which for the first time will be held at the NEC Birmingham to coincide with the Birmingham Dive Show weekend, is open to all BSAC Diving Officers, Instructors and branch representatives.
Delegates to the one-day conference will hear Professor Alex Rogers talk about his inspiring work with unmanned submarines to discover new species more than 8000ft down in the Southern Ocean. His discoveries include a two-inch long crab which possesses a hairy chest, leading the team to name the creature the Hoff Crab after former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff.
Meanwhile, diver and ichthyologist Richard Pyle - renowned for his concept of deep (Pyle) stops - will talk about his pioneering diving career discovering and documenting new species of fish around the globe.
Other speakers include BSAC Safety Advisor Brian Cumming, who will be presenting the latest annual incident report plus there will be all the essential Diver Training updates and open forums, as well as the BSAC Awards 2012.
BSAC Conference 2012 tickets are on sale now, priced £15, and all conference delegates also get a free DIVE 2012 weekend ticket.
Plus ... every BSAC Diving Conference ticket holder will be entered into a prize draw, courtesy of Scubapro, to win a MK25/A700 regulator worth £599!
Conference delegates are also invited to an after-show/conference Balti night and disco at the nearby Metropole Hotel, on the NEC campus.
