The Lundy Splash-in takes place on Saturday, 29 June.
The island, a protected Marine Conservation Zone in which fishing is banned, offers spectacular marine life, from colourful cup corals to a strong population of grey seals. The marine reserve’s warden, who organises the competition, will be hoping for better luck than in 2012, when the annual event had to be cancelled due to poor weather.Entry costs £20 per head, to include camping on the night of the 29th when evening pub entertainment will feature a local band. For further details and a pre-registration form, recommended as places are limited, contact warden Beccy MacDonald at firstname.lastname@example.org. Mark Lavington won the Marine Abstract category of the Lundy Splash-in in 2011, the last year in which the competition was held.
