Sea Shepherd to go again
30 June 2009
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has announced that it is to commence a third season of anti-whaling voyages.
Operation Waltzing Matilda will depart from Western Australia in December, to take on Japanese whaling ships in the Southern Ocean.
This time there will be two ships on hand, said Sea Shepherd – an “upgraded and fully repaired” Steve Irwin and a “fast interceptor vessel”, Earthrace.
The majority of the ships’ crews will be Australians. Also aboard will be an Animal Planet film crew, “the most powerful anti-whaling weapon at our disposal”.
