The newly laid moorings cover some 26 dive sites, and should do much to protect the area’s reefs.
Water safety will also be improved, with buoys laid also to mark zones for swimmers and all manner of craft.
The work was completed by divers of the Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association (HEPCA), in association with the Marine Parks Authority of Aqaba.
It was commissioned by the Regional Organisation for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, a regional inter-governmental body.
