TV’s Living channel is researching its next series of Four Weddings – and would love to include a bubble-blowing “underwater wedding in the series”, as one of “a real variety of weddings”.
The series theme is that four brides attend each other’s weddings as guests and, to select a winner for best wedding, mark each other’s special day for dress, food, venue and overall experience.
A diving bride could steal a march in so many areas.
Dress? “She looked beautiful in that fishing net.” Food? “Those oysters did the trick.” Venue? “The underwater arch was perfect, but the vicar’s robes were everywhere.” Overall experience? “Wa ter celebration.”
The Four Weddings underwater unit would come to your wedding as planned by you. It would not interfere in any way, since a programme based on comparisons would otherwise by meaningless.
To qualify for the programme, you need to be marrying at any time from now to the end of February, either in Britain or abroad. A realistic foreign venue would involve short- to medium-haul flights, for instance to the northern Red Sea.
The deadline for registering with the programme is, says the production team, reasonably fluid - but a good guide is that they probably need to hear from you before Christmas.
