The exhibition has but a smattering of specifically diving-related exhibitors, although Southampton’s Andark Diving will be there enticing potential divers into a try-dive pool.
However, for diving club members or individuals who already own a RIB or hardboat, the show gathers under one roof the major manufacturers and UK outlets for all manner of boating equipment.
It could be a new outboard or inboard engine; safety gear such as flares or lifejackets; or something electronic, from a GPS set or radio to electronic charts or a radar.
Other products include general chandlery, clothing, traditional paper charts and pilotage books.
Friday, 8 January is Public Preview Day, for which entry is more expensive but guarantees a smaller number of visitors and easier attention at the stands.
It is also the official press day, the show being where manufacturers traditionally launch new products to the British market.
