Scoones masterclass

Top underwater cinematographer Peter Scoones is to give a day’s tuition on photographic techniques for divers in Essex on 6 February.
The course will be run by Ocean Optics and Mavericks Diving of Basildon, at the town’s Underwater Film Studio.
The studio’s underwater stage is set up with props designed to make an ideal practice area for budding underwater photographers.
Emmy award-winner Scoones is famous for his work for Life on Earth, Life in the Freezer, Life, Planet Earth and Blue Planet.
“Peter is uniquely gifted. He is also legendary for his generosity with sharing information and ideas built up over 50 years of non-stop innovating,” says Ocean Optics.
“This one-day event will provide a small audience with the opportunity to learn face to face from a man who is simply one of the best underwater photographers in the world.”
Cost per head is £69.
The underwater studio stage is used regularly by the company for photographic courses.
