New Sharm flight begins

The new route, which began on 30 April, will help package operators organising Egyptian diving holidays for customers in the North and Midlands.

The company is running three return flights a week.

To celebrate the launch easyJet, in recognition of the importance of diving customers for the Sharm run, has presented one lucky diver with a ‘ticket to dive’, giving three free return flights to Sharm.

Marc Williams, 25, from Denton, was selected with the help of Manchester’s Aquatech Diving Centre, which nominated him as a promising young diver who could do with the support as he works toward becoming a diving instructor.

Williams, hooked on diving after taking it up a year ago, plans to use the trips to complete the 60 dives required to qualify as a PADI Divemaster. He will then be able to begin his instructor training.

“I’m absolutely thrilled with my easyJet ‘ticket to dive’ which will enable me to escape the unpredictable British climate to complete my remaining dives in the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea – what could be better!” said a delighted Williams.
