Devon hosts photo championship

The on-the-day underwater digital photography competition is run by the British Society of Underwater Photographers, from Mount Batten on Plymouth Sound’s eastern shore.

Holiday company Maldives Scuba Tours has signed up as main sponsor for three years. It is providing the overall winner's prize of a liveaboard holiday for two, ex-flights, in the Indian Ocean’s Maldives islands.

Other prizes have been donated by equipment manufacturers, retailers and publishers.

Those wishing to register upon arrival should do so by the Friday evening, or on the morning of the competition by special arrangement. 

However, the organisers prefer participants to register in advance, by 23 June.

Advance registration is necessary for anyone who wants to be guaranteed a ticket for Saturday’s buffet supper at Hotel Mount Batten.

The buffet preceeds projection and judging of images, announcement of results and presentation of prizes.
