The business franchise has been bought by Martin and Amy Stanton, who run Vobster Quay Inland Diving in Somerset.
IANTD UK was previously run by Kevin Evans and Simon Walton, who in 2008 took on in a caretaking role from Kevin Gurr, who founded the operation nearly 20 years ago.
Stanton, a successful businessman, has developed Vobster quay with his wife over the past two years.
Now the couple plan to develop IANTD UK which, they say, is in “a very good position to grow”, given that “virtually every experienced diver and instructor in the UK has done an IANTD training course at some point in their career”.
The new operation’s UK Training Director is Phill Short, one of the UK’s most senior IANTD Instructor Trainers.
Short trained with Gurr in the early 90s and formed one of the UK’s first trimix wreck diving teams.
He is also a highly experienced caver and has worked extensively on film projects, a recent role having been as trainer and filming assistant on the BBC’s Oceans series.
