BBC’s Wild Night boosts conservation funding

The programme was part of an appeal which aims to raise more than £2 million for conservation work. Marine projects are set to play an important part.

The BBC Wildlife Fund’s Wild campaign kicked off in late April. With Wild Night, which progressed in the style of the BBC's Children in Need and Comic Relief, the public got on to the call lines to make their own contributions to the cause of protecting all manner of wildlife and natural places.

The BBC's Springwatch programme’s Chris Packham, Kate Humble and Martin Hughes-Games anchored the show, while the doyen of natural history programming, Sir David Attenborough, made his own contributions.
