Two divers have been winched to safety after becoming separated from their dive boat off south-west Scotland.
The pair failed to surface as planned while diving in a group off the Mull of Galloway, Scotland’s southernmost headland.
An emergency call was put and, co-ordinated by Liverpool Coastguard, searches were launched by the Portpatrick and Stranraer RNLI lifeboats, the independent Port William inshore lifeboat the charter yacht Go West.
The Prestwick SAR helicopter was from Prestwick was scrambled and it was the air crew who spotted the divers on the surface some distance from their boat, before hauling them from the sea.
