Some 300 items from the wreck’s debris field are displayed, with a focus on the “compelling human stories” tied in with the finds.
The exhibition has toured internationally for some years, but new on display are 14 artefacts which have just completed conservation treatment.
Also freshly on view are video footage and images from the latest large-scale expedition to the Titanic, which took place this summer.
Passing through the exhibition, visitors learn about the ship’s construction, life on board, the sinking and expeditions to the wreck.
Recreations include first-class and third-class cabins, the cargo hold and boiler room.
Fielded by RMS Titanic Inc, Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition will run at O2 to 1 May next year.
RMS Titanic Inc holds recovery rights to the wreck, having been made Salvor in Possession of the site by a US federal court in 1994.
It has conducted eight research and recovery expeditions, bringing up some 5,500 pieces from the wreck.
This summer’s visit to the Titanic involved a thorough mapping of the vessel, so that it can be “raised virtually for future generations”.
