Turtles back to good health

The releases bring to 270 the number rehabilitated and returned to the ocean since the damage wreaked on marine life by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

Another 200 or so await release.

Turtles treated have included green, Kemp's ridley and hawksbill turtles, classified as endangered, and loggerheads, classified as threatened.

Rehabilitation has been carried out by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and Audubon Nature Institute.
