Divers achieve hyperbaric milestone

The Kernow Federation of Dive Clubs, an association of diving clubs in Devon and Cornwall, has been running fundraising activities at its annual diving festivals for the benefit of Plymouth’s Diving Diseases Research Centre (DDRC).

Representatives of the federation recently presented a cheque for £2500 to the charitable-status DDRC, bringing the total donated to £10,500 since its first summer diving festival of 2003.

Receiving the cheque from Kernow Treasurer Allen Murray, the DDRC Chairman of Trustees, Steve Cox, said: ““We are truly grateful for the unstinting support and generosity of everyone involved with the Kernow Federation of Dive Clubs. 

“As a medical charity, we need every penny we can get and donations of this sort will make a very real impact on the treatment and comfort of our patients, many of whom are divers suffering from the bends.”
