Running alongside the forthcoming London International Dive Show (LIDS) at ExCeL on the weekend of 26/27 March, TEK 2011 will cover topics ranging from expedition management and deco-planning to the latest closed-circuit rebreather technology and training.
Heading up the TEK speaker programme will be John Garvin, one of the world's most experienced technical divers.
Not only did John Garvin co-write the script for "Sanctum" (pictured), James Cameron's 3D follow-up to "Avatar", but he was also diving coordinator and acted in the film. TEK 2011 organisers are therefore delighted that he has agreed to be at the show to talk about the making of this eagerly-awaited movie.
Other divers set to make presentations include Vikki Batten, Mark Ellyatt, Martyn Farr, Jack Ingle, David Jones, Gareth Lock, Mark Powell, Phil Short, Rich Stevenson and Paul Toomer.
All levels of diver are welcome because, although aimed primarily at experienced technical divers, and those recently qualified and looking to do more, there will also be sessions at TEK 2011 for those wanting to find out what technical diving is all about, and what equipment and training is available.
Priced at £22.50 for one day and £40 for both days, tickets for TEK 2011 include free entry to LIDS 2011.
TEK 2011 is a DIVER Group event in association with DiveLife, Hollis (Oceanic), PADI RecTec, Scuba Travel and Suunto, and supported by Typhoon International.
