Visitors to the London International Dive Show (LIDS 2011), at ExCeL on 26/27 March, will be able to sign up for the six theory modules of the INON UK Level One Underwater Photography Course.
It covers the effects of light and visibility on underwater cameras, sunlight colour-correction techniques, flashguns, super wide-angle and wide-angle images, and taking close-up, macro and super-macro pictures.
There is also a top-tips session on shooting popular subjects for maximum impact.
The course is claimed to be the world's most comprehensive underwater photography course for beginners and the only one approved by a major underwater camera equipment manufacturer
Presenters are INON UK course co-designers Steve Warren and Mark Koekemoer (pictured), with Nick Robertson-Brown from Frogfish Photography and James Seymour from Black Rock Diving Centre, Dahab, Egypt.
Meanwhile, photographers of all experience levels will find much to interest them in a series of free 45-minute sessions in the new PhotoZone presentation area in the main LIDS 2011 exhibition hall.
This will give the chance to see, among others, Saeed Rashid talking about Photoshop, Alex Tattershall on macro photography, and Paul "Duxy" Duxfield on video editing.
Other features in the PhotoZone will include a dazzling collection of underwater prints taken by experts from the British Society of Underwater Photographers (BSoUP).
Underwater photo gear will also feature strongly at the show, suppliers including Cameras Underwater, UW-Fotopartner and UnderWaterVisions offering the latest cameras, housings and accessories from brands such as Canon, Fuji, INON, Panasonic, Aquatica, Nauticam and Subal.
Other attractions at LIDS 2011, the 10th anniversary Dive Show at ExCeL, include dedicated dive holiday areas focussing on diving in the Red Sea, Caribbean, Asia-Pacific and British Isles, Try-Dive and Rebreather pools, and a free programme of presentations by world-class diving speakers.
Advance tickets for LIDS 2011 cost £7.50 (or £6.50 if you buy six or more).
